Curriculum & Instruction

The West Middlesex Area School District strives to provide the highest quality curriculum and instructional delivery possible. To meet these lofty goals, the West Middlesex faculty has created several documents to coordinate and align the curriculum both vertically and horizontally across all grade levels. The core documents in the alignment process are the content area curriculum calendars. These calendars, along with our Atlas curriculum maps, are the backbone of the District's instructional program. Copies of the curriculum calendar documents can be found in the Curriculum Calendars and Other Documents folder on this page of the website. Please understand that curriculum revision is a continuous renewal process and any gaps in the current curriculum documentation process represent curriculum that is either in the piloting or redesign stages.

As the District moves toward full implementation of the Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Learning Skills, our faculty will be using the curriculum calendars and Atlas curriculum maps to design a rigorous and challenging curriculum that meets or exceeds the expectations of the newly adopted state Common Core Standards. These documents provide a glimpse into the ongoing instructional design process that ensures our students are ready to meet the challenges of an ever changing world.
